I needed a voice recorder for lectures and saw this app. There wasnt any comments or ratings so at first I hesitated.. Of course, its not perfect! But sit close to the speaker, and put it to high quality recording, and its just great! Thanks so much! Worth the money :) Hope it keeps upgrading!

This app is exactly what I needed. It has a real nice Mac theme to it, however it is not Retina ready. So on a Retina macbook pro, the app looks terrible.

Worth putting a few $ into - does what it says well - unobtrusive

It will record your lectures but because of where the mic is positioned on most laptops youll get a lot of background noise from your typing or if you move you computer around a lot. I also noticed that when you add markers in the lectures they do not always save them. I tried contacting their support with no help at all. The only reason Im giving a two star is because it does record but thats about it.

Paid for this app hoping it would garantee some sort of reliability but it didn’t. Each type i press the button to stop recording it cuts my recording by half (ex: recorded 1h45min and it cut it down to 55 minutes) Do not use if you depend on your recordings

This app is great for recording notes. It works really well for the things I need it to do. It is very basic but more functionality than I expected for the price! Didn’t work very well with my laptop’s built in mic in classes but I think that would be more a funtion of the microphone than the software.

This app does exactly what it says it does and does it well. I’ve used it for taking notes while reading off of the computer and the keyboard shortcuts are very handy for stopping and starting. They were very helpful with feature requests that I contacted them with.

Very user-friendly and simple, yet effective. I wish, however, I knew how to edit out the audible click from pausing and resuming a recording.

Purchased this app trying to make some voice recordings for my little guy. Spent $5 for a program that continues to freeze with nearly every selection I make. Visuals are terrible. If you have one, use the voice recorder on your iPhone. I’ve been using it for lectures and it has worked great (and includes visuals indicated level of voice recorded).

First the app store page said this app is 50% off today. It wasn’t. Secondly I bought this app so I could e-mail voice files. From what I can see it can’t.

Even with all the free voice recorders there, bought this for a conference that was too important to leave to free apps. Got it. Tested it a few times. Then on the day of the conference opened the app. Had to open something else (like check my email) when I came back to the recorder it was gone. No dot by the app’s icon in the dock. Tried to restart the app or get it to appear by clicking the icon in the doc but no go. Tried to see if it was listed in the Force Quit menu and it wasn’t. Rebooted my mac and restarted the app. Same story. Feel very cheated.

App is amazing for tracking work converstaions. I can’t remember my name have the time so having the converstatsion to listen to again is so helpful.

I too, at first, was confused by the fact that the app does not have a menu or a dock icon (it only shows in the menu bar icons). I did not try long recordings yet but the short ones I tried are very good sound (have a headset with mic). I tried the "pause" option and was impressed by the flawless recording (not even a clic) . I also had no problem saving, exporting or emailing my recordings.

eXtra Voice Recorder has met my expectations for a small app. It has a free flowing gui that made it easy for me to start using app. This made it easier to determine whether it would be useful for me. I have not have any need to request support so I can’t comment on that area of assessment. Price, well, reasonable, does not really pay for author’s time in software and I am not with all the facts regarding its development. So, the price is fair.

I bought and downloaded the full version of eXtra Voice Recorder but it doesn’t open. I can’t give a positive review because the application doesn’t launch.

I am reading a book for a friend who has difficulty reading. The app is straightforward and easy to use. The only part that is somewhat confusing is if I need to edit the file — it creates subfolders and sub files. Once I figured that out, it has been very simple. Highly recommended for anyone who needs to create simple audio recordings.

Bought for three devices at the same time. My mistake apparently. MacBook, iPad, iPhone. None of them worked in any obvious way out of the gate. Iphone has yet to record and neither has the ipad. That’s 20mins spent on what should be about the easiest program you could ask for. Just. Record. A. Voice. Somehow, the designers of this software managed to miss how every other basic recorder on earth has a tendency to operate. Designed on mars? Anyhow, it served a frustrating enough experience i just kissed the money goodbye and uninstalled on all devices.

I hate this app. It pops up saying… Rate Me, but it doestn’t work anymore! If you record a message, you will never hear it…. because the software needs to convert it… but it won’t convert it. Convert it to what!??? Who knows This was a good app, but now it is a horrible app. DO NOT BUY! I REPEAT: DO NOT BUY IT! If anything change for the better, I will rate it better…. but right now I give it a -10. They should be paying their customers to test & use this crap. I’m really tired of broke-down products.
