Just what I needed to get transcriptions done. Especially love that it pauses automatically when you are not speaking. - Fab!

This App does not allow you to cut and splice recordings if you want to delete sections or remove unimportant segments. The description should not include comments about editing, because it only allows you to insert text comments at various places in a recording. Very disappointing.

It should be straightforward, right? It’s a voice recorder. I so wanted this to work. The app opens for all of about 2 seconds and the instant you click outside of it, it disappears and does not re-open. You have to restart your computer to open it again. And you can’t actually move the app around once you have it open. Since I can’t use this, I tried to delete it, which you can’t even do can’t even delete it. I’m contacting Apple to get rid of it and to get a refund. I’d like to be able to read and record at the same time and this app is way too brittle to support that.

This is a good app that I use constantly to record my lecture notes. However, I constant problem that I found with this app is that after a certain amount of time the app records, when I pause the app and start recording again, it erases hours of recording and start right from zero which is really annoying. Please fix. good app for recording overall!

I love this app… I can edit, pause, download as an MP3 file … it has good sound quality and is super easy to use. I had zero experience in voice recordning and I use it for my podcast. I love it. Thanks EXtra Voice!

This is an excellent app. I really like the feature to continue recordings and I really like the feature to export to mp3. I would love to see the feature in the future of being able to combine multiple recordings together into one recording.

As you can see, reviews are 5 stars pretty much across the board, except for the few 1 stars. I’m not sure why from my experience. I mean, this app deserves 5 stars when it works, but it constantly crashes and when it does it slows down your whole computer. So, it’s not funcational and deserves 2 stars, maybe 1, in my book. I’m starting to think that reviews on the app store are perhaps going the way of some Amazon reviews: they’re placed, purchased, or promoted to be there in some way. If it’s not just me and you find the same trouble, post a review. I’m writing this because I wish I would have read something like this and simply tried something else and also to get the developers to look into this. There’s no reason why this should have any 1 or 2 star reviews. I tried it a few years ago and it worked well for a few weeks, then crashed. I abondoned it and upgraded my MacBook Pro to Yosemite a month ago. I thought it might make it work and the answer was a clear: NO. It crashed right away and again slowed down my whole computer. I tried it probably 30 times over the years and it failed 15 or so. I really tried to like it because it COULD be so much better than Garageband to just get a quick recording out. Maybe it’s just a select few that have this trouble but the trouble makes it unusuable and I bought it because of the great reviews and now I question them. To the developers, you have something potentially great and convenient but crashes way too often. It makes no sense to have something meant to be convenient that actually adds incovenience. Pretend you downloaded it, tried it, and it didn’t work and buy something else.

This has to be one of the most difficult to open applications that I have ever encountered. I finally managed to download the app by using several websites, and I now have four copies of the application in my computer, but I can’t open any of them. I can’t register them. I just can’t do anything with them. Whoever setup the procedure for paying for this app had a nasty sense of humour. He must get his kicks out of making life difficult for the people who were dumb enough to try to buy this app rather than from the monetary reward. I GIVE UP! I got a little further this time, but now the program won’t let me get any further because it says my zip code is wrong. Well, I know more about that subject than eXtra Voice Recorder does, so I now realize that it is impossible to buy this app. It’s just some kind of unfunny joke. Anyway, I’ll buy another sound rcorder. This is certainly not the only one; it’s just the most impossible one.

Well, this was useful until the latest update with additional features added on. One of the things I loved about this app was how rock-solid it was… that you could DEPEND on it just… working. Now it’s all sorts of messed up.

This version sucks… It lost all my files recorderded in my previous version. I don’t recommend it.

I bring this recorder to any talks or conferences i’m wanting to listen to again. It’s great to have it handy since my computer goes wherever I go. The quality is wonderful, but if you plan on typing notes, just be aware that it will pick up your typing too. Another drawback is when importing it onto your computer (I’m fairly sure all the notations and photos you made will not transfer. But hey, it’s $5. what’s to lose :)

Been using this app for about 8 months now and it’s flawless. I use it to record my classes and call sessions, no problems with keyboard clicks recording. There is an easy access button on my menu bar, I can group the recordings in folders, it has excellent sound quality, and I can also use the DropBox feature so I can access and sync the recordings across all my computers and mobile devices.

Was looking for a straightforward sound recording app and was really pleased with this one, and I love the export features and syncing. Surprised to see a long list of features and hotkeys, the categories and folders make it easy to organize all my recordings neatly.

Straightforward, simple to operate and the result is clean and clear.

theres only one app that you need if you need a recorder and this is it..i almost gave it 4 stars for constantly asking for rating. i hope youre happy, the app is the best of its kind

Easy to use even for a novice MAC user like me.

This is a great way to record a meeting without disturbing the participants. Why type notes when you can simply record on your laptop which would most likely be at the meetin anyhow.

When I downloaded this app, it helped me to record the whole class, and take note for each time frame at the same time. Noise from my classmates was canceled out too, which helps me alot. The thing makes eXtra Voice Recorder different from other recording apps is that it allows you to take note, tags in during the record. I was able to study again when I get home. Pretty straightforward, easy to use, helpful and worth the money! You won’t be disappointed.

I have been using the native recorder on my ipad , and i always want a simllar app on my mac . this is a great way a record a meeting without disturbing the participants . using the speakerphone on my cordless handst. very useful when i need to record audio at the same time going over notes , lectures and presentations.

Hello, I purchased this recorder several moonth ago and it works great for personal recording sessions for my podcasts and audio sales pitches. I do however, want to warn you that you will get hammered with popups until you rate the app in iTunes. I just pray the developer will quit asking me to rate the application after this review is complete. Best, Seth Riley
